Welcome! My name is Lauren Dewey Tarr and I am a former-marketing-director-turned-family-executive/freelance-writer-and-editor. A few years ago, after climbing the corporate ladder, I left the fast-paced world of business suits, briefcases and client lunches for the equally faced-paced – albeit completely different – world of yoga pants, backpacks and school lunches. Mundane at times, my new life is still challenging and hectic, creative and chaotic, demanding and fulfilling. I love my new business partners (read: husband and sons) and even enjoy their company most of the time. When I’m not shuttling kids around town, I’m either at the gym working out, in the kitchen concocting a new recipe or in my home office writing and editing.
My blog, Roses and Armpits (named after a line from my favorite children’s book, Raisin and Grape), is sassy, snarky and brutally honest with a touch of cautious optimism — just like me. Come back regularly (or better yet, subscribe to my mailing list) to see how I’m navigating this new world and trying to put my self-proclaimed perfectionist ways behind me while raising two mostly fantastic boys in sub-rural Pennsylvania. You won’t want to miss any of my kvetching or candid admissions.
Before I go, I’d be remiss if I didn’t add a shameless business plug … If you’re in the market for a freelance writer, ghostwriter, columnist, editor or proofreader, I’m your girl. Just drop me a line (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your deets and we’ll chat.
Thanks for reading!
